Yesterday's announcement that an MD from BP is to join Santos as an executive VP in a new 'growth' division is very interesting.
Last month there was an article in a technical journal regarding Santos's Principal Technical Advisor moving from Santos to BP. This could be more than just a passing coincidence.
I bet a merger is on the cards.
Even though Santos share price has run well in the past 4 months, it is still cheap on an enterprise value per 2P reserves valuation.
Anyone else like to comment on whether a takeover by BP is likely?
