The Cooper Basin deal might solve their ramp gas issue.

One of the short term concerns with the QLD LNG developments is what to do with all the ramp gas. Ramp gas occurs because all the CSG wells need to be drilled and dewatered in preparation for supplying to the LNG projects. The wells will start producing increasing amounts of gas before ramping up to full production. A lot of gas will be produced ramping up to meet the production levels that are required for the commencement of the LNG plant production.

What do they do with all the ramp gas? Flood the market with this surplus gas and collapse the domestic gas price? What gas consumption process can use a lot of gas for one year and is left with no gas in the following year (as the gas is subsequently redirected into LNG)?

Why not reduce the amount of ramp gas by taking some of the early gas from the Cooper Basin and subsequently ramping up the CSG production to replace the gas coming from the Cooper Basin?
