Their seems to be plenty of media articles, of late, speculating about SANTOS, but I wish SANTOS would release an official ASX announcement to put the rumours to rest.

The possibility of SANTOS not paying out a dividend in the near future to help fund the project has me a bit worried.
But their again, it is a cheaper, easier, way of raising capital then asking a bank for loan.
From memory, I don't think the dividend re-investment plan has a high participation rate, so withholding the profits might be a good option.

So, come Monday, will we see the share price drop further ? or will it rise as investors realise the long term benefit of the project ?
