The offer to buy STO is 'indicative, highly conditional and non binding'. So you have to ask will it go through should STO agree? Possibly not and it burns time and effort.
But is $8.66 a lowball price? Given the current macro esp for LNG and considering huge debt level of company, I reckon STO should accept. Will SP get close to 8.66 anytime soon? I doubt it unless another TO comes along. Holders should ask themselves what is realistic likelihood of that happening?
Santos should accept offer of $6.88
