Apple have just done the deal on solar for heir Californian base that consumes the equivalent of circa 70k homes. Others will follow.

Demand for oil has been growing at around 1M bbl pa, obviously off significantly higher prices.
So switching to alternative energy only needs to cater for 1M bbls or more in growth each year to keep oil in surplus for years to come. Momentum of switching to lower emission or green fuels is gaining momentum swiftly & so is the advocacy not investing in fossil fuel companies by fund managers etc.
