This article is on hydrogen fuel cell which is what Toyota & Hyundai are concentrating on.
The big advantage that I see is that the HFC only takes 5 or 10 mins to refuel, unlike a battery that needs re-charging. Also the cost of the vehicle is significantly cheaper than the Tesla electric, mind you the Tesla looks a lot nicer.
The main hindrance at this point will be price compared to a traditional combustion engine, although that is likely to drop significantly & 2nd infrastructure, but again that seems to be being addressed, but will take time.
