As a trader and investor you soon learn also how damaging it can be to bury your head in the sand and only listen to the facts you want to hear.
Just as an example there have been reports that on Friday there were tens of thousands of Iraqis protesting against US occupation. This has been widely reported including Rueters, the ABC, The Age as well as many Arab and Asian news sources.
This stoty has had very little coverage by US news sources and most of the ones that have covered it have done it in a way to play it down or discredit it.
But I suppose at the end of the day it all depends on whether you are interested in trying to find the true facts or just your version of the truth.
As for the anit war protestor bit of getting it wrong I think the jury is still out on that part.
