So Id say You dont give away control under 51%. Not with great leadership and a stable board and share holder base.
Except Steve Jobs brought on board managers that actually turfed Him out of His own company with His maniacal rants and leadership. Only bringing Him back when it was on the rocks from balloning products and falling sales.
Also tying up 53% means You keep diluting the untied 47%. Which actually dilutes all shares.
Ive studied these big companies strategies to build from small to big. They keep selling share percentages in the companies. Most aim for 7% as start up funders take very big percentages of the shares.
Fair valuation is very relative terminology. Did they have no assetts apart from a shell company in England? So they got 53% of a start up company for their Intellectual capacities to make this happen. The dye was set. Asking for more shares now with no Share Holder related KPIs is asking for a revolt.
Luckily for the board the last AGM was held in the Isolated City of Perth and had weak voting. 57 million shares voted....
