It's interesting that Fleet Space is currently using Iridium and Immarsat for providing their current IoT service. They going to be putting up their own 'birds' soon, so they must be able to do it better and/or cheaper than those bigger companies.
From the Fleet Space website - "Fleet are using Iridium and Immarsat services, which are well-established worldwide. We add our secret sauce to the mix to make them efficient without impacting the service. Stay tuned, we're also launching our own birds!"
It was also interesting to read that "Its first satellite will establish a global network that will connect the world’s sensors and devices, for free. Just one satellite has the ability to cover 90% of the Earth". So, perhaps the 3 Diamonds in their global polar orbit will be able to continue to supplement the IoT revenue coming from the equatorial based Pearls. They might be more useful than just as demos for the initial period until the Pearls get up. Demand for the IoT looks like ramping up quickly.
