''A well known scholar said that the sayings related to 'the Kingdom of Heaven' were no more than a reference to the insurgency by the Jews against the Romans.

The Jews saw themselves as God's chosen people and they lived in 'the Kingdom of Heaven.' They wanted the Romans to be gone--nothing more complicated than.

However Christianity changed the meaning of Kingdom of Heaven radically and it became the carrot and reward for the flock to do as they were told while on earth.''

That's possible. But the issue is with the claim that this body of work is inspired by the Creator of the Universe....so, surely it would have to be expected to be the pinnacle of clarity, no ifs, but or maybes. It should be understood without a hundred different interpretations of meaning and significance to the point where anyone can interpret it to mean whatever they like, whatever suits their fancy.

Another issue being that the verses are specific in their description of Jesus coming to judge all mankind, to gather the elect from all over the earth, events that all would see and this would happen while some standing there were still alive. Conditions that were not met by the bits and pieces that our Mr Wotsup loves to spruik as a solution to failed prophesy.
