I've won some big ones - not usually the long all day favourites though - more on 4-6 legs at big odds.
You don't win many with multi's but you get 1 or 2 big ones up a year and it puts you well ahead.
Usually I have outs from the 3rd or 4th leg depending on the bet that one I only had one out on the 8th leg before it went into the last in Melbourne. It was really just trying to cover an all day favourite outcome - I was hoping for other horses in R1, 4 and 8. I did get the place on Rox The Castle and win on Grey Shadow though.
