Weekend Winners – Saturday, February 2 edition

Welcome to Weekend winners, your one-stop tipping sheet for Saturday.
STAR BET – ALBRECHT (Caulfield – Race 3 No. 1): As a rule we don’t like tipping short-priced favourites but this bloke looks a moral with just 2.5kg over minimum on his back. He’s got plenty of class and we’ve got him pegged as a genuine 1200 metre horse. Use him as an anchor in some multi’s or go straight out as we think he's a good thing.

TWO-YEAR-OLD TIP – METASTASIO (BUT WAIT TILL RACEDAY) (Caulfield – Race 2 No. 10): Out of one of the best two-year-old stables in the land and is drawn perfectly in the middle of the line. She's already done it on the track whereas some of these are yet to prove themselves. Politeness will come out of the market, causing quite a reduction so we suggest you wait til raceday or take top fluc.
ONE STONE LIGHTER TIP – RACEWAY (Rosehill – Races 8 No. 9): He won two of his first seven starts but has since had the snip before recording a pair of impressive trial wins. Always had a bit of class and while this is a tough race he represents good value at around the $8 mark.

SYDNEY VALUE TIP: ANGOLA (Rosehill - Race 6 No. 12): He shirked his maiden tag with a six-length win last start. That was in easier company than this but he has a bit of upside to him. Pat Carey has a bit of luck when travelling his stayers up from Melbourne and the Helenus’s tend to handle the wet. Don’t be fooled by his wet track stats as he was in unsuitable races for both. There’s been money for him in quite a few of his eight starts suggesting the ability is there.
FRESH LEGS TIP – SAID COM (Rosehill Race 5 – No.1): Went enormous first-up last prep and had a quiet trial but looked good when fourth over 900 metres at Rosehill on January 22. Beautifully placed 2.5kg over the limit and should be too good for them.
EACH-WAY ALL DAY – PLAYTIME (Doomben - Race 8 No. 4): Finished second to Bennetta last start and that looks good enough for this. She’s in career best form and has won on the heavy plus you can get each-way odds about her.
$50 QUADDIE STRATEGY – CAULFIELD: We’ve played it wide throughout most of the legs except for the third where we’re keen on It’s Crunch Time but Dany Fox has to be thrown in. A $50 investment will yield 20 percent of the dividend if successful.

    1st leg: 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 12
    2nd leg: 8, 9, 11, 12
    3rd leg: 5, 13
    4th leg: 1, 6, 7, 9, 12, 14

$50 QUADDIE STRATEGY – ROSEHILL: Again we’ve had to go wide with multiple chances in every leg. There’s not a lot to explain other than we reckon there’ll bbe a rough result in one of the legs and that should add some fat to the dividend. A $50 investment will return 7.71 per cent of the dividend if successful.
    1st leg: 1, 3, 4
    2nd leg: 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, 12
    3rd leg: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7
    4th leg: 1, 2, 6, 9, 11, 15
