The point, however, is that certain Christian sects have this messianic view that they must become missionaries all around the world so as to convert everyone to their form of chirstianity. Again, some countries tollerate this and others absolutely hate it -much like your phrase above suggests.
The Dalai Lama warned the Buddhists not to go proselytising the rest of the globe and by that statement also inferred that no religion should trample on another religion's territory. Let the locals deal with it, let that religion evolve within its own parish.
No'one's religion is better than anyone else's. All religionists believe in individual and respective Gods and ALL of them have the right to do so.
Conversion is very problematis and it's seldom about "god" or "spirituality" or "seeing the light."
