Volume can be deceptive...If I held 1000000 BHP which I bought at $43 and I wanted to get the SP up so I could offload them what's to stop me putting a sell order on for $30 and a buy order on for 29.90....for say 2000 shares.....I could do this over and over again basically buyibg my own shares....I could drop he task if I wanted the price tp fall or up the bid if I wanted the price to rise...
We trade 2000 shares or thereabouts at a time (well I do) and think it's a big deal but the bigger players who make the market move trade much larger amounts...
They also know what traders are looking for as entry signals..they also know how to read charts....
There's some games going on right now IMO
