You're taking the same conservative side of the debate and giving the same end-of-the-world, think-of-the-children arguments, so I think the level of debate needs to change and things like ssm won't be such an issue. Not the end of civilisation, just another step towards it.
You wouldn't want to be on the side of history of those who wanted to stick to the status quo with Apartheid in South Africa, where ssm is legal, but it's the same reasoning and the same kinds of arguments. I don't know your own thoughts on it, but the argument that people are being bullied and told what to think and s must vote in the interests of the Church and state beggars belied..
