    In the case of Lynas, and many other stocks for that matter, we are not speaking of investors in the sense you infer. Rather, we had a case of a sovereign state, The People's Republic of China wanting control of Lynas.

    Indeed, try a reciprocal of that, an Australian entity, private or state, trying to own a major share in a Chinese entity. In truth it's a path of action not worth trying because the door is firmly closed.

    Further, one of the main topics of concern here is the legacy we leave for future generations of Australians, and that conversation includes all companies. Indeed anyone who digs up our god given resources. In my view this form of revenue raising has gone too far and the time has come to take stock of the situation.
