I understand totally mate and people like yourself deserve to own a dog. I had an Australian cattle dog , that I rescued,she lived until she was almost 17 and she had 5 large tumours removed in her life. I never thought twice about giving her what she needed and I miss her terribly even though she had a great, long life and it's been 11 years since she passed.
My current dog goes every where with me except for work. Even when I go out for dinner or lunch I try to find somewhere where we can sit outside , so he can come along. He wakes me up at exactly 6AM every morning for a walk or run and we do it again when I get home from work.
Having a dog is the best thing in the world, they bring so much joy!
