Saxony promotes innovative storage technologies for electricity from renewable energy

Morlok: "Who saves, helps to slow the rise of the EEG apportionment"

The State encourages investment in decentralized storage of electricity from renewable energy sources. Plant operators should thus have an incentive to cache the generated power as possible and to consume itself, rather than inject it directly into the power grid.

"Who, for example, stores the current from a photovoltaic system and consumes itself, helps to slow the rise of the EEG apportionment," said Saxony Minister Sven Morlok (FDP). "This relieves all consumers of the ever-increasing electricity costs. The new funding also supports pilot projects for the integration of electricity from photovoltaic systems that do entirely without the EEG levy, "said Morlok on.

For the program "Innovative distributed power generation and storage" are 2013 and 2014 a total of 3 million euros available for years. Thus, investment in decentralized electricity storage will be eligible to photovoltaic systems and fuel cell heaters. The amount of the grant depends on the power rating of the corresponding generating plant. Who, for example, operates a photovoltaic system, and only 40 percent of the rated power of the system feeding into the public grid and the rest, the memory system can be promote with up to 50 percent.
Whoever completely into the feed of the self-generated renewable electricity waived public network, are obtained in a limited number of model projects a financing rate of up to 75 per cent for the corresponding memory system including the photovoltaic system.

"We are setting an effective incentive not only to generate electricity from renewable energy sources, on the other hand, the public power grid to relieve especially at peak times," said Minister of State Morlok on. "The development and promotion of distributed generation and storage technologies were and are an essential requirement of the Free State energy policy in the context of the reform of the Renewable Energy Act."

With the promotion of fuel cell systems, the launch will also be supported for this highly efficient technology of decentralized combined power and heat generation.
funding applications can from 1.10.2013 in the Saxon Development Bank - provided funding bank.
