Mulgabill, fundamentally you are correct. Yes, the USD is in trouble 'long term' as you say. But its not going to collapse overnight and then stay collapsed. It will take many many years with long periods of up & down. Maybe even decades of up and down. Look at how long it took the Sterling to relinquish its role as top dog in the early 20th century - 25-odd years.
