too true... another "investor" attracted to AGL dividend yield at the time - needless to say both earnings and dividend have dropped from 4/1/21...current p/e of 5.8 is about right... but the dividend yield will still come down from the headline listing of 6.9% once the next dividend comes through it will be around 4.3% if the current SP holds.
neither of these metrics imply to me that AGL is a growth stock... if anything... that p/e indicates it is anything but...
Fundamentals are needed to support future AGL growth... and that is all being hidden behind demerger.
