From a technical perspective, there is plenty of support around old bottoms on the weekly chart back in '17 and just before the big run up to the top at $5.31. Further back on the monthly chart, around '09 - '12 there's a bunch of tops where the market went sideways, also providing technical support. Additionally, this stock loves bouncing off double and triple bottoms and tops. Throw in a the broader gold market momentum, its reasonable to think a move back up was on the cards after the November bottom.
