On reviewing all the information i can find on SC55 it would seem that perhaps the Hawkeye and Maranto leads are not the only elephants worth drilling in SC55.

On Otto's presentation of December 8th 2009 SC55 is shown with 16 prospective leads, but what really stands out to me is that 3 LARGE leads are in the shallower region closer to Palawan and other discovered wells in the area. In particular Murex 1 ( which is inside the SC55 area),Kamonga 1,Paragua A-1X and Aboabo A-X1. All of these wells look to be in around the 100m sea depth as well as in the same contour lines of the three shallower prospects in SC55.

If 3d seismic is done in this particular area by BHP,this shallower, proven area of oil fairway, may be a very attractive target.
It would satisfy their farm in commitments, and drilling a much shallower target(s) would lower their costs, but still ensure they still remain operator @60% share in SC55, with dicoveries in SC55 funding future higher risk exploration. IMO DYOR
