Given Gregor's BHP history and likely network you would think that he would understand the constraints of BHP's 'code of conduct' policies. With recent rumblings of Chinese corruption, BHP aren't going to do anything out of line here and if the well has to be at TD by the August deadline, the company should be claiming Force Majeure sooner rather than later to allow drill time when things are resolved.
The market has already priced SC55 out of the equation. Why not make the call and focus resources on Galoc and Duhat in the short term? Everyday that ticks by is making this harder to execute.
