    Ok, so thanks for the ABC link - so its up to $600m over 10 years ? Yes I do have google, but I was surprised that noone had posted the article before. Another quick google tells me that Australia provided $480 m in one year 2022- 3 to PNG.

    Now , to get onto the lease vs buy decision. Have you ever done a discounted cash flow analysis ? I don't want to sound like a smartarze, but I have done hundreds, and there are several different types of lease. The main 2 types are "Operating " and "Finance" - but they both have variations which affect the outcome of the decision, both from a financial and risk perspective.. It is not as simple as it may appear - I know that your response will probably be something like "I don't believe you" so I will respond now .
