Quite right, too, Dumbo! They're grade 4 and 5 for Chrissake. What did you expect, perfect English? Censorship? "No you can't say that because it's rude," like tits here tells us? (see his post to me) Obviously, the teacher had talked to them about the refugees, who are still behind razor wire, and suggested that they may wish to write to the minister. An admirable suggestion. If they've made mistakes now, they have at least found one avenue of expression; and they've also found out that here, in OZ, we PRIDE ourselves of FREE SPEECH. Not speech made politically correct, not speech censored to serve your moral sensibilities but honest to goodness, heart felt freedom of total expression. Vanstone is a big girl -physically as well as by age. She can easily drop a letter to that class and insist that the teacher reads it to them by way of explanation. Or she could go down there and meet the little ones herself. No time, you say? Bad luck! The kids in the detention centers are stuck there for an uncertain duration. All they see is barbed, razor wire and god only knows what other ugliness.
Or, of, course, she could just release the children to the wider community. Those who want to look after them until their case is heard, are growing in number by the day.
Don't tell me the innocent students are wrong. You and Vanstone and Rudock are wrong!
