I did some more research into SCE on the weekend - it seems their current strategy is to invest in various projects in China with their primary activity being the sale of 100kv environmentally friendly dry type transformers. This is meant to drive sales when the unification of the national power grid occurs in China. They also are involved in property management (with Park Plaza) as well as some other things. However I still can't figure out which investment they sold for $US28m. This seems like quite a feat for a company that only has a market cap of $AU 9m and if the deal does eventuate based on the performance hurdles, it seems like SCE may be up for a bigtime re-rating!
