Scenario, strategy, battle and war
Some retail investors are liquidating $15,000 of his or her portfolio at $0.120 i.e. 125,000 shares and hope he or she would get more shares via SPP at $0.10 or below. Let us assume at $0.10 (for illustration purpose). He or she expects to get around 150,000 shares with the same amount of money $15,000 at $0.10. If it is lower than 0.10, she or he will get more shares. Hence, some retail investors are happy to see price going down every day.
If Lynas has 40,000 retail investors, Let us assume that 5 per cent of them execute the above scenario, there will be around 25 million shares to be sold today (5 per cent x 40,000 x 125,000).
Those retail investors including some members of HC might have executed the above scenario.
If SPP price is higher than 0.120 on 24th May 2014, they will lose money. However, they have B plan to buy back those 125,000 shares on market after 23 may 2014
If SP is going up quickly due positive market sentiment, they will buy at a higher price on market and capitalize on the positive sentiment.
