I don't understand why there is talk of direction from Singapore. What does Singapore have to do with a mining exploration lease in Java, Indonesia?
The closest major city to Tujukh Buhkit would be Surabaya (Indonesia's second largest city). There would be an established court system available there.
On the question of expropriation, I saw evidence of this first hand when I was in Lombok. European interests had built a large hotel near Kuta, Lombok only to have the Indonesian Tourism Authority acquire it for its headquarters. Quite a few yars ago now.
On the power of the military I knew an influential Chinese-Indonesian businessman in Surabaya. During the anti-Chinese riots (I think around 1998) he would telephone a general in the army who would order that tanks be deployed at both ends of his street.
How does the Intrepid saga make shareholders in other ASX listed companies operating in Indonesia feel? Robust Resources (ROL) comes to mind.
