'also if we breed like flies we die like flies'

yes indeed WhatGFC. Although this is a little offtopic, the issue of population growth is the basis of many of our energy problems.

What to do? The chinese seek to reduce child numbers by the one child policy. This has social implications however. I have an idea, not sure if its been offered before. By promoting the idea of birth giving at a later age(30 instead of 20 for example), we would theoretically slow pupulation growth, as generations become spaced out. Any child born from a twenty year old mother, if they give birth also at twenty, and then again, means three generations within a sixty year period. Give birth at thirty and only two gens in a sixty year period.

Create tax breaks for those who play by this as we all know from the plasma bonus that money talks. (lets face it this is financially viable anyway as younger families struggle socioeconomically and draw more funds from the govt) Later family starters are perhaps more financially stable prior to starting a family. also more likely to limit the number of children they have.

Draconian? Perhaps. if you view the world through the growth at all cost lens of some previous generations perhaps.
