@patsy2; I worked in Victoria's public school system for thirty-five years and as a principal was thoroughly versed in data and processes related to sexual harassment and sexual assault impacting student, staff and even parents.

Although it has not been eradicated from public schools it has been very greatly reduced because of the virtual zero tolerance approach, the feminisation of the public school workforce, the absolute transparency required of public schools and staff disciplinary procedures which require immediate interventions to prevent the risk of additional incidents.

Any public school principal who's alleged to have failed to protect a student(s) or who knowingly subjects a staff member to a dangerous workplace faces strong interventions from the Education Dept and is of course open to civil action from students / parents.

What happens in taxpayer-funded private schools could hardly be more different - as demonstrated by the roughly 300 recent allegations by teenage private school girls against private school boys and the manner in which authorities allowed private school principal, Malka Leifer, to flee Australia as allegations of sexual assault were lodged against her.
