    That's admirable and I'm sure our state schools are better for it.

    Nevertheless you have misunderstood what these girls are saying. They have not been assaulted at school, hence my original point "The school would have to know about these incidents to take disciplinary action".

    All of the schools mentioned are single sex schools, therefore these events could not have taken place on school grounds. The letter makes explicit reference to teenage parties as the places where the assaults occurred, with the compounding problems of underage drinking and drug taking. "Stories frequently feature interactions at parties, and relationships between students from single-sex schools, and include instances of male students taking advantage of female students while drunk."

    She goes on to say “The private schools have the resources to address these injustices,” Contos told the Guardian from London. “They have every resource to make sure it can’t happen." The easiest way to make sure it can't happen is to teach them not to get comatose at parties and put themselves in a vulnerable position. But that will be decried as victim shaming so you may as well just forbid them from attending mixed sex parties until they have finished school. Good luck with that.
