Kingpins - correct. I also have issue that the core texts for each year are rather poor from a literary point of view, and yet the ones that I would consider valuable from an 'English' point of view are the supplemental texts. eg. HG Wells very good writer... equally Lord of the Flies - sentence structure, vocabulary etc...
