    Try using a tennis ball and place it underneath your leg close to where the hip joint is whilst sitting upright on a chair.It may take a few tries along the leg between the knee and hip joint to find the exact spot that relieves the pain. A tightly rolled up hand towel also works instead of a tennis ball. My physio showed me this and it has worked wonders.
