The time has already come for immunotherapy and cancer. Opdivo among others. More effective than standard chemo without the hellish side effects, although, there are side effects.

Unfortunately, the time for MPAC therapy has not yet arrived. The FDA has deemed that avenue of exploration closed due to some vague dog study result at massive doses. Whatever.

Immunotherapy for cancer is indeed a breakthrough, but there are still very serious side effects. A close family relative was unable to take a just approved immunotherapy because, although safe, the potential for harm was too great in her weak condition, and the odds for a response were only about 20%.

But it still won approval, and rightly so. Of course, it's made by Roche, so the skids were greased a bit, no? Had it been a small pharma out in the hinterlands, perhaps those safety concerns would have been ... troublesome. That's the way it works, right?
