God: created a world where creatures are highly sensitive to pain, yet have to eat each other to survive. God therefore created a world of tearing flesh, spilling entrails, oozing blood, tooth, nail & claw.

When Abel is resurrected it will be interesting to learn what animals were like prior to the flood. At the moment all we can know is humans were not permitted to eat flesh. - Genesis 9:3. Logically we can assume nor were animals.
