typical article.. they don't understand something, or cannot visualise or conceptualise probabilities, so everything must be the doing of some higher power.. I'm sure the 'explanation' helped people sleep at night for a few thousand years (back when mankind didn't know what caused thunder, or rain, or fire etc).. the level of scientific knowledge is growing at exponential rates, so the need for magical solutions is needed less so
pointing at the (supposed) failure of the SETI program as part of the argument is rediculous
the universe has been around for billions of years, and we've been sat here with sufficient technology for all of the last ~50 or so.. not even a blip on the radar.. intelligent life has more likely than not come and gone a million times over throughout the universe before us, and will continue to do so after we're gone
we're not special little snow flakes.. remarkable yes, but not specifically created by a designer in their own image
