I beg to differ.Theories can be generally accepted and work empirically.
The implication of Declaring the Science "Settled" on something is to say that it cannot be challenged, that it is a fact.That is the practical implication.
When Prime Minister Rudd declared the science settled on climate change he implied that it was now beyond question.
He was taking to himself a power generally reserved for popes and prophets.
Whatever the merits of his and your beliefs he pissed me and a lot of other people off. Who gave him this power. He is not the messiah.
