    Aaah Dogby, you know there is no 'absolute truth'.

    Let's be charitable and assume that the OP accepts many things as settled science, there's just one or two things considered to be 'settled' science that he's not convinced of (or doesn't understand yet).

    For example, maybe he thinks he can't do any research on it because he feels a bit silly for doubting the science that's withstood all the tests over such a very long time. So instead he falls back on that old furphy of accusing the scientists of 'deliberately closing debate'. (What he really means is that he's not been able to produce anything that conflicts with the settled science - so it's just your standard cop out.)

    After all, you'd think that if there was any substance to the 'case', it'd be easy enough to dig up some evidence to show the earth is flat. :D
