indeed, I would think it's quite a ways down the list of problems

the problem is the wilful ignorance of people who consume

not only are the people who have 50 or 100 pairs of shoes in their wardrobe and buy 2 or 3 more every time there's a sale on -

not only are they ignoring the fact that it's they who are destroying the planet - even when they are presented with the facts - they choose to not change their behaviour

they are driven by their primal instincts, fears and insecurities

we 'should' be smarter than that -

we aren't - indeed - we are getting worse - not better.

yes, food is an issue - but, if we got a recognition of what the problems are and could change ourselves into a responsible being - the food problem would disappear overnight

modern western life is what we consider - compared to wandering nomadic --------------- developed

by a country mile - wandering nomadic are far more harmonious with the planet that this

this is the planet killer

I get you. I was only highlighting the food problem for a population later this century of 9bn.

With respect to society, the developing world, like all those Chinese coming out of poverty, and Indians likewise, all want a steak sandwich and several pairs of shoes. They see our society as the model. We are effectively killing ourselves very slowly.

If we don’t get technological breakthrough to change the economy of the world, we are doomed. We live longer, we multiply more and we want more as we all get, metaphorically, better off.

The economy forecast now says we can’t afford our future. There is only one way out after the turd hits the fan. War
and rebellion. Let’s just say - technology better be first for the worlds sake.
