Cortis - good point, and one that needs to be constantly repeated.
Another example - Richard III (I think - the "hunchback").
Josephine Tey wrote a pretty remarkable book giving the opposite view to Shakespeare's (and history's); who is right I don't know, but the mere fact that history is debatable is worth keeping in mind.
