We are Never going to get those markets back - especially the premium end.
The US got it through using the Big Stick - they will never give it back to our farmers and coal miners. Its theirs now.
As for us, we can only hope the cake grows bigger which is likely as more and more Chinese will be lifted into the Middle Class in the coming years.
The only issue moving forward is the political relationship: can it be repaired and go back to what it was like in the previous 29 years?
With Scott at the helm, I fear more deterioration than improvement.
And its likely he will win another term (I can see him using the Howard slogan during the next election), and the oldies whose pension won't be affected by this political stoush will vote for him again.
