Saying that, though, I don't believe that SM's comments the other day necessarily spell out the end for PEP11. I still query how blase his comments were and so contrary to his government's recent many statements in relation to gas. And the context of the comments is questionable - had he spoken about PEP11 before that? When was it and what did he say?
I have no doubt there is much discussion going on behind closed doors - a lot of political strategy on PEP11 and its effects on the chances of the coalition winning the next election. After all, that's all that really matters to a sitting government.
