    I think the UKs approach was a lot more considered and measured - went to great lengths to explain the decisions with evidence and facts (treating the public like adults). Banning the mass gatherings is fine but it’s well down the list on effective measures according the the UK scientists.

    The most effective measures to spread out the peak (that’s all we are trying to do here) is to wash your hands and self isolate at home for 7 days if sick.

    Unfortunately for Australia delaying the peak buys hospitals some time to get ready but puts us into our flu season which will add extra load to the system.

    Our approach appears to be a little more haphazard and reactionary still. Also we are planning for a worst case scenario of 25% infected. The UK is planning for a worst case of 80%!
