@Chuck; way back in 1972 Gough Whitlam made the provision of high quality free public education Australia's first priority - we became a world leader in best public education practice.
Ever since Whitlam was sacked by a British Queen his successors have reversed that priority to the point where Australia is now ranked with the rump of countries failing their young people. Our recent PISA results were appalling and sound the death knell of 'the clever country'.
As if that's not bad enough, Scott Morrison even steadfastly refuses to improve benefits for the young unemployed even though they've been unchanged for almost twenty years despite massive increases in costs and John Howard's 10% GST on everything - Morrison's victim blaming using language including 'leaners-loafers-bludgers' is his way of blaming every one except the Coalition for the rancid mess they've already created.
