We are a fickle bunch driven by social media and hype. We all make mistakes but it’s getting a little silly. He is more of a symbol that anyone who can do anything about these fires in the real world. I think we expect to much from govts. It’s not like they are nimble and efficient.
Perhaps it’s time we took a deep look into what is really going on. Why did we get caught with our pants down? Where was the equipment and experienced fire fighters? What role does state govts take? What do councils do these days? What is going on inside the National Parks? What are we going to do about murdering arsonists? Why do councils ban people from cutting down fuel sources close to their homes. Where I live, you can get massive finds for doing that. It’s rule makers putting us at risk, not Scomo fault.
Replace one F-35 fighter and buy several water bombers for starters or just buy them. If we needed a real royal commission, this stuff would be a useful start.
ps
Bush fires will turn up again next year. With or without lower emissions and the hype.
trying to re-write reality is a fools game.
