    The problem with calling out a liar is that to do so often requires us to simultaneously admit we've been a sucker.
    The context of any given lie being told changes from mouth to mouth, but the nature of the lie is always the same; I'll reaffirm X so you don't have to feel like a fool for believing it. And that makes calling out the lie a double edged sword.
    Thus we will continue to get the politics we deserve until we learn to own up to our follies.
    It's ok to admit you've been foolish.
