I think a lot of Trump voters were happy to accept The Donald's lies as "honest lies" because he said them so naturally, and (more importantly) because he entertained them. Hell, I'd never vote Trump and even I admired his ability to brazenly churn through a dozen lies a minute as if they were breaths of air.
But ScoMo doesn't have The Donald's entertainment value working in his favour, far from it in fact. He's just a boringly bad liar with zero governing vision or policy agenda, desperately trying to win another election.
