Federal Government has had over 12 months to put adequate facilities in place to provide quarantine for returned travellers to Australia.
Immigration is a Federal responsibility but Morrison keeps passing the buck on to the states. Hotel based quarantine is totally inadequate to stop the spread of COVID19 and it's many mutations and variants. We need purpose built remote locations that won't affect our big cities and cause further lockdowns!
They should have bit the bullet 12 months ago and invested $2Billion in building facilities outside of the major Capital Cities to accomodate thousands of returned Australian travellers. They wasted Billions in hand outs to their rich business mates like Gerry Harvey who rorted Jobkeeper whilst raking in massive profits during the COVID19 lockdowns.
We could of had 4 or 5 of these facilities operating by now if the Federal Government had of moved 12 months ago. We could have international students returning to Australia by now as well. Our economy needs these people coming in and spending money to drive the economy.
