I don't know if he was just naive , weak or actively supporting SCOMO but it was inapropriate for sure on his part . PM could ask him to retire or resign but not sure they could actually force him out without contacting HM and westminster which would be a bit embarrasing . I'm guessing he's just a dope and I think he'll likely serve out his time doing his ceremonial bit and trying to avoid other mistakes .
