    A little bit patronising on your part but of course I realise you need to make a loss to negative gear.
    I used to do it
    But I can tell you one thing
    By the time I repaid that "subsidised" capital portion of negative gearing, and paid capital gains tax, I don't think I was being subsidised. Plus a tax rate of 30 cents in the dollar doesn't really give you a big tax break.

    Ok fair enough, I most probably drew a long bow about entitlement, but to answer your statement, I don't find it hard at all to defend negative gearing.
